Neath Port Talbot College - Afan Campus

I qualified as a teacher with a Certificate in Education, and gained a BA through the Open University in 1991.  I worked at Afan College, which became Neath Port Talbot College, for a total of 28 years, as Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Director of Study. I taught biology & maths  and I  set up  the first course for students with learning disabilities.  I also set up a number of outreach centres including Porthcawl College. At present I am an Associate Lecturer for the Open University on the Openings programme.

I set up a small retail business in 2002  - selling dolls houses.   I also ran a 'B&B' for 4 years. My other skills include sewing and DIY. I have  raised five daughters - an experience which has developed all sorts of skills!

Signing the Twinning Charter in St Sebastien sur Loire

In a voluntary capacity, I set up a Youth Activity Centre in Porthcawl, and I arranged the Twinning between Porthcawl and At Sebastien sur Loire, France.

I was a member of NATFHE for many years, and now I am a member of the GMB.
